OnePlus 5 runs on an android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with OxygenOS at its top while OnePlus 3T still comes up with android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) which can be upgradable further to Nougat. So there is no major issue about the operating os.

If we take a closer look at OnePlus 5 =, it comes up in 2 variant the first one is 6GB with 64 GB of storage capacity and the second variant consist of 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage whereas OnePlus 3T supported 6GB of RAM with 64 GB of storage. OnePlus 5 supports 3300 mAh Li-Po battery with dash charging where as OnePlus 3T consists of 3400 mAh Li-Po battery with dash charging. So it is look like OnePlus 5 is a downgraded version of OnePlus 3T in the battery department.
