The company name itself is enough to highlight the company goodwill nowadays.
Now, the Xiaomi Redmi series is dominating in all segments whether its sub-20k segment or whether it’s a sub-30k segment. The company is ruling in all segments except the one, sub-10k segment.
Now, the company came up with its all new REDMI 4A a sub-10k segment phone which delivers a great performance under sub-10k department. The Redmi 4A is made up of polycarbonate, despite it feels like a purely metallic. The Redmi 4A supports a 5-inch of HD display with (720×1280) of resolution and 296 of ppi pixel density and it is easily hand able to use it with just one hand. The Redmi 4A supports a hybrid slot (one sim at a time in case, if you are using a micro-SD card) and a charging slot on bottom with infrared emitter & a 3.5mm jack at its top.
There is no finger-print scanner in this device, which maybe a turning point for this device. But who cares about finger-print scanner in this INR: 5999 price. The Redmi 4A launched in three colors – Dark grey, Gold & Rose Gold.
The Display is good in this price segment and has no issue with it in using in direct sunlight. The colors are vivid as compared to other phones in this price segments. The Redmi 4A also offers a reading mode which makes color easier on the eyes and allows you to adjust color temperature under display setting.
The smartphone is powered by a snapdragon 425 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.4 GHz. It has 2GB of RAM & 16GB of ROM and can be expandable up to 128GB via; Micro SD-Card. The Device is packed up with a 3120mAh of non-removable battery which can deliver seven days of standby time, as the company’s claim.
The device runs on android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 based theme. The company’s highlighted feature of this device is that it supports 13 Indic languages which include Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Hindi and much more.
There is an Amazing Dual app feature in this device which leaves you with an option to use multiple accounts within a same device. Some of the other features of this device include a Child Mode that allows you to lock apps, the hovering quick ball button to use shortcuts with just one tap and one hand operation mode which automatically shrink the display.
Beside this, there is an app called MI MOVER which we need to pay special attention. In this app you can easily move data from one MI phone to another one. The dialer in this phone is also improved which shows caller ID by default.
The Redmi 4A supports a 13MP of Rear Camera and 5MP of front facing camera for selfies. It also has a LED flash ,and supports low light enhancement, HDR, face recognition, panorama & burst mode. You can also get a plenty of real time filters which you can use for fun.
The Rear Camera is able to take pretty good shots with decent color as long as there is enough light present. The auto focus is quite quick but we noticed that the camera struggled with close-up shots. The low light performance of Rear camera is decent, were quite grainy at most of time. The front facing camera is not good in low light but it manages to take decent selfies, if it taken in light.
In terms of performance, we can easily multitask and have no issue with it but while playing high end games like Asphalt 8 or Injustice: Gods Among Us, froze first as too many apps already running in background.
The Redmi 4A managed to score 27567 in AnTuTu Benchmark & 16,693 in Quadrant, 3684 in 3DMark Ice-Storm and 13fps in GFXBench Test.
It is definitely a Good budget smartphone as compared to its competitors like coolpad, Samsung & Intex. Under this sub-10k it’s a best device I have ever seen in the smartphone industry.
